About the University of Kassel and the Research Training Group Multiscale Clocks
The University of Kassel is a modern and growing University with round about 22.000 students. The university’s wide range of expertise covers subjects in the natural, applied, cultural and social sciences.
The University of Kassel has established the interdisciplinary Research Training Group (RTG) “Biological Clocks on Multiple Time Scales”, which is funded by the German Research foundation since April 2022. The RTG is investigating the principles of timekeeping in living organisms, enabling to orchestrate periodic processes with very different frequencies ranging from infradian over circadian to ultradian rhythms. This unique approach combines the expertise of biologists, physicists, chemists, mathematicians, and engineers to advance the understanding of biological clocks.
The positions modified according to the requirements of the different disciplines as part of the "Biological Clocks on Multiple Time Scales" project limited to 36 months (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz).
