Professorship (W3) in biochemistry (m/f/d)

We are seeking an outstanding scientist with excellent qualifications in the field of bio­chemistry. The candidate has a strong research profile in the study of metabolic pathways, metabolomics or signal transduction with experience in experimental protein biochemistry. Research on vertebrate models is excluded.

The professorship is based at the Institute of Biology at the University of Kassel and strengthens its research and teaching profile. Collaborations within the Institute of Biology (), the “Multiscale Clocks” research training group (), the Centre of Interdisciplinary Nanostructure Research and Technology (CINSaT)
() or the Kassel Institute for Sustainability () are desired.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the following areas:
(1) publications in renowned scientific journals, (2) acquisition of third-party funding,
(3) ability to lead a research group.

The successful candidate will cover the entire range of theoretical and practical basics of biochemistry in teaching, for bachelor's and teacher training students, as well as in-depth elective modules for master's students in the fields of biology and nanostructure science. The language of instruction for bachelor's and teacher training programs is German. The willingness to learn German in a reasonable period of time is required.

Teaching experience and the ability to teach biochemistry to bachelor and master students are expected.
