Responsibilities
This tenure-track position is to conduct independent research and teaching in the area of Business Administration, in particular Digital Supply Chain Management.
The main areas of research should be the design, planning and control of value-adding processes, both internally (production planning and control) and/or in logistical networks (supply chain management), based on empirical methods made possible by new technological developments in the context of digitalization. Operations research, business analytics and artificial intelligence are particularly relevant here.
Close collaboration with the research center Innsbruck Decision Sciences (IDS) and the Digital Science Center (DISC) is expected, as well as participation in the cross-faculty research platform Economy, Politics & Society (EPoS). Teaching comprises the (co-)supervision of courses primarily in the Bachelor program Management and Economics and the Master program Information Systems in the area of Production and Logistics Management or Operations Management, respectively, as well as the (co-)supervision of theses.
Participation in academic self-administration is taken for granted.
Employment Requirements include
  1. doctoral degree in a discipline relevant to the subject area (or a related discipline);
  2. post-doc experience and/or professional experience;
  3. output beyond the PhD, documented by publications in international peer reviewed journals;
  4. interdisciplinary work;
  5. international research network;
  6. involvement in research projects;
  7. experience with the acquisition of competitive grants;
  8. pronounced teaching skills and experience with (co-) supervising students;
  9. communication skills for team work;
  10. organizational and management qualities;
  11. fluency in English is required; knowledge of the German language is not strictly required for this position, but the successful applicant will convincingly demonstrate her/his willingness to become proficient in the language at the level of teaching in the BSc program.
Description of the Position
A tenure-track position at the University of Innsbruck provides a career pathway leading to a tenured full professorship.
The successful applicant will receive a six-year employment contract under the ‘Angestelltengesetz’ (Employees Act) with a full-time workload (100%). Concurrently, they will enter into a ‘Qualification Agreement’ in accordance with § 27 of the ‘Kollektivvertrag’ (Austrian Collective Labour Agreement for university personnel) and will commence at the rank of Assistant Professor. Upon successful completion of the ‘Qualification Agreement’ requirements, the position will be converted to a tenured role, and the candidate will be promoted to Associate Professor.
Thereafter, a full professorship under § 99 (4) of the ‘Universitätsgesetz’ (Austrian University Act) may be opened, for which the Associate Professor will be eligible to apply. Your application must have arrived by
